In mid September Fall kicks off with Oktoberfest! The Fest offers authentic German fare from local vendors and establishments, beverages for both adults and kids alike; children- and family-based activities such as the Kids Zone, Brat & Donut Eating Contests; A variety of live music including Polka, Classic Rock, local children’s talents, Kids Karaoke and more. The best part… All ages are welcome!

This event is sponsored and hosted by the historic Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove. Over the years the concert series has sold out and featured such live entertainment as Frank Caliendo, Second City, Poi Dog Pondering, The Bacon Brothers, The Freddy Jones Band and more. The event is a 21 and over function, but make no mistake, there is a definite sense of community at the concerts.

This event takes place in February at Downers Grove South High School and has been a community favorite. The event itself gives the community a chance to witness key staff members and public figures, in a fun filled competitive and interactive family environment. The Community Team has an opportunity to compete against “The World Famous Harlem Wizards”. Participants can include Police and Firemen along with the Mayor, State Representatives and Teachers/Staff.
